If you are looking for a getaway from the stresses and strains of everyday life this is your spot! What about Christmas in the country? The house is set in its own mature grounds now resplendent with spectacular autumn colours – see recent gallery photos. You can take a walk around and enjoy the views of the County Armagh countryside – we are on a hill so you will be looking over the surrounding farmland and the Mountains of Mourne are visible most of the time, weather permitting!
However, if something more energetic is called for you can walk in Peatlands Park, about 3 miles away or Loughgall Country Park – similarly about 3 miles away. The latter also features a golf course, a lovely childrens’ play area, outdoor gym and relaxing walks through mature woodland and a soothing lake walk.
The Historic City of Armagh with its two Cathedrals, Observatory, Planetarium, Museums and Libraries is 20 minutes away, and Belfast 40 minutes. We are centrally located in the Province and many of our guests have used us as a base for visiting the Giant’s Causeway, Carrick a Rede Ropebridge, Bushmills etc. The Dark Hedges, featured in Game of Thrones, has also been a destination for one family. The Titanic Exhibition in Belfast is also well worth a visit and easily done in a day.
There are shopping centres, Leisure Centres, Cinemas and top quality Restaurants in Armagh and the surrounding area, besides those available in Belfast.
We can also arrange riding activities at Moy Riding School, about 3 miles away with prior notice – and if you fancy making a basket you can do a course with Alison Fitzgerald at Greenwood Baskets at her workshop in Benburb, about 10 miles away. Please contact us for details.
